Before debuting as a member of BtoB, Sungjae acted in jTBC’s 'Living In Chungdamdong'  as Invincible Chungdam No. 5 member, along with fellow members Seo Eunkwang, Lim Hyunsik, Jung Ilhoon, and former BtoB member Lee Minwoo (now C-Clown member T.K).

The group has released one mini-album (along with an Asia Special Edition) and three singles. With Ilhoon, Minhyuk took part in writing lyrics for “비밀(Insane)”, their debut song.

As of mid-July, Sungjae became an MC for the program, A Song For You. He is an MC with Kangin of Super Junior and Amber of F(x). The guests of the episode was Jung Joon-young and Seo Eunkwang, Lim Hyunsik and Lee Changsub of BtoB.
